Late Winter Newsletter for Judith M Millinery Supply
--update on new products, price changes--
We have been carrying ball cap bills/visors for some time and recently were listed in the February issue of "Sew News" as a source in response to an inquiry in their letters column. Ours are made of white polyethlene, a flexible plastic. And now we also have 8-hole straps for the back of the cap. The straps come in black or white and are $ .95 per dozen, or $6.95 a gross. (yes, the colors can be ordered mixed)
A new hat kit is now available, "Beginner's Straw Hat Kit", $45. Supplies included are: parasisal capeline (color choice from in stock supply) gentle polyblock (size 21, 22, 23, or 24 inch) #19 covered wire and joiner, belting, needles and pins 2pg. instructions We continue to offer the "Basic Hat Kit for Students", $17.50, and "Raffia Hat Making Kit", $40. All of these are available on the web site and in the catalog.
The pinch front fedora style crown is available in wood, 5.5" deep, headsizes from 21" to 24" in half-inch increments, at $120. The pilbox has been available w/ straight sides and now can be ordered w/ tapered sides also, $95. Same sizes as listed above for fedora.
The wooden hat stretcher now comes in a 4-way style at $125. The 2-way stretcher is still offered and has two sizes for selection now, 6 3/4 - 7 1/2 and 7 1/4 - 8, $105, no price change.
Natural straw braiding is available in 72 yd hanks at $27, or $1.00 per yard. Width sizes are 6mm and 10mm (6mm being the narrower).
For a limited time we can offer 4" parasisal bodies at $15. Colors are: natural, black, coral pink and eggplant.
The medium and heavy weight buckram (black and white) are now available in 30" widths, instead of 60". The price per yard has dropped accordingly, medium and heavy are $4.00 yd, flexible is $4.25 yd. If you prefer the 60" width it can be special ordered by the 50 yd roll. Call for price quote.
The elastic terry sweatband dropped in price to $1.50 yd, and $35 for a 25 yd roll. (It had been $1.75 yd) Colors are still black, white and khaki.
Brim wire in the 60 yd coil was lowered to $25 (previously was $29.50).
We now have wire joiners once again!! They are brass and fit the covered wires and the brimlock 1.35mm. Price is $1.50 dz. or $16.95 a gross.
Shipping has had to go up a little due to a rise of both USPS and UPS rates. We did not go up last year when UPS raised our rates, and we have not been passing along the fuel surcharge being given to us, but when they were raised again this February we had to go up. So far the only change is in the minimum, going from $4.35 to $4.50.
We intend to keep growing and offering more items and better prices and your continued support and good wishes will make it happen. A special "thank you" to those of your taking time last fall to respond to the e-survey carried out on our behalf by a Goshen College business class. Your comments and opinions told us to keep on tracking ahead. As time and money allow we will be implementing many of the good suggestions received through the survey data.
