December 2001 Newsletter

Greetings to each of you during this last month of 2001:

Looking at old newsletters I was surprised to note that we had not sent any to our Email Catalog Listing since May. Where has the time flown? Some of the products I want to especially let you know about are included in this message, for others, I hope you will visit our website once again and browse the products pages. http://www.judithm.com

FLARE - 4" double velour fur felt, from Czech Republic, $12.00, in colors of black, camel, navy, medium grey and gunmetal grey. CAPELINE - 6" single velour fur felt, from Czech Republic, $12.00, in colors of navy and light grey. To find these on our web site click on PRODUCTS and then click on the line, SPECIAL SALE ITEMS. Both of these were purchased as a one time deal, so when they are gone, they are gone.

STRAW FABRIC - The interest in the Sinamay quingmay ayos straw fabric we carry continues to grow and although our supply was depleted we expect the new order to be in hand this very week. Along with the regular weave in colors of natural, black and bleached white, we are stocking a new pattern weave called FISHNET. This will be available in natural and black. We will have images of it on the web site by next week, if it really does arrive this week. And you are welcome to request samples. The RAFFIA will again be available in natural and we have added black. The price on both raffia and sinamay did not change.

SINAMAY HAT BODIES - we are planning to have a 6" capeline in natural, black and red. Samples will be with this shipment of yardage because I want to see the actual dye color before ordering in quantity. If there is interest in other colors, let me know right away and I will consider adding to my order. Remember, that this is the sinamay with great flexibility, not prone to cracking or becoming brittle. We are the U.S. distributor and your enthusiasm for it gives us the courage to add to the color selection offered.

BALSA HEAD BLOCK - Our head block is being done locally now, and has the traditional shape. It also has an unfinished surface, and a lower price! $90 ( old price was $105 ) An image of it will on the website soon, but if you wish to order, go ahead and use the current category. HAT BOXES, TRAVEL - We have a large, 20"w x 18"h, Storage Hat Box made in black alligator pattern vinyl, $89. I have had some like these for years and now the company has begun making them again. They show off nicely so work great as part of a display, but they also are durable. Mine have few scratches, and have been lugged to and from shows many years.

There are two smaller styles as well, that resemble drum carriers. Both in black patterned vinyl. The smaller one is 16"w x 8"h, $59, and the large size is 19"w x 9"h, $69. Or, the set of two can be ordered for $100. Note: these are too large to be a carry on, I believe. And they are not crush proof. If a really heavy carton was dropped on top, they would at least dent, possible flatten, depending on the circumstances.

Our website is undergoing major changes, for more convenient browsing and shopping, and to provide additional features and information. My holidays will not be quiet, as we struggle and muddle our way to a better site. But may your December 2001 - January 2002 bring a warmness of spirit to you.
