April 2004 Newsletter

SPRING HAT SHOW May 1 and 2 (Saturday and Sunday)

Guest milliners at our SPRING HAT SHOW are Loretta Corsetti and Laura Hubka, both of Chicago. Ms. Corsetti excels in hand created trims, her spring line has a French influence leaning toward the exquisite and whimsical. Ms. Hubka has a fascination with ribbon and you will find a riot of ribbons and bows on her "very wearable" spring line, with contemporary styling.

Come chat with the milliners and find a style fitted to you and your personality among their spring chapeaux. Corsetti and Hubka are both members of the Chicago based Millinery Arts Alliance.

Hours for the show are 11 am - 4 pm Saturday and Sunday, May 1 – 2, 2004.
The Judith M shop is located at 104 South Detroit Street, LaGrange,
Indiana, 46761, 260-499-4407 This event is free and open to the public.
No admission charge.

Classes
The growing demand for more opportunities to learn about making hats continues and we have a bang up schedule of CLASSES at our shop for spring through fall. Buckram blocking and flat pattern creating, handsewn braid hatmaking, blocking with sinamay straw cloth and wire skeleton frames are subjects of these workshop. And there will be one or two more classes scheduled later in the year. If you would like to know when the new classes are announced send us an email stating such and we will gladly add your name to notify anytime additional classes are announced.

New Products
Because it has been so long since our previous newsletter there are more new products than appropriate to list here so I will mention only a few and encourage you to take time to explore the website and discover the many exciting and useful items that have been added already this year.

Looking in the HATBODIES category, under the STRAW section a number of new sizes or straw types are listed. Including a large 8" sisal capeline, a attractive crocheted seagrass flare, a 6" sinamay capeline, and a panama straw in two sizes.

A wonderful new Cartwheel brim block has been added to the HATBLOCK category. great for your larger brimmed hats.

Blocked Hats, No Trim
These hats are blocked hats with no trim for those of you that prefer to work with something already blocked. This category has more than doubled for spring/summer and the colors offered in each style is deep. We will not always have the style or color in stock but can usually ship it to you in 7 to 10 days.
